“O GOD the Lord,
the strength of my salvation,
you have covered my head in the day of battle.”
the strength of my salvation,
you have covered my head in the day of battle.”
Psalm 140:7 NKJ
Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.Ephesians 6:13 The Message ~
“The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity." 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 The Message ~
“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 20:1 NKJ ~
“Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” Samuel 17:47 NKJ ~
“When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name, then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. 1 Kings 8:44 NKJ ~
“Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20: 15 NKJ ~
"You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJ ~
“With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” 2 Chronicles 32:8 NKJ ~
“Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.” Psalm 24:8 NKJ ~
“Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle” Psalm 144:1 NKJ ~
“The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.” Proverbs 21:31 NKJ ~
“The noise of a multitude in the mountains, Like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts musters The army for battle.” Isaiah 13:4 NKJ ~
“ My anger is kindled against the shepherds, And I will punish the goatherds. For the Lord of hosts will visit His flock, The house of Judah, And will make them as His royal horse in the battle.” Zechariah 10: 3 NKJ ~
“They shall be like mighty men, Who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle. They shall fight because the Lord is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame.” Zechariah 10:5 NKJ ~
“Then the Lord will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle.” Zechariah 14: 3 NKJ ~

It's both an exhilarating and chilling thought to realize the Lord does, and WILL make good on ALL His promises. One day it'll all come to fruition, and He will be acknowledged as King of kings; Lord of lords. Thank God He offers safety to those that call upon Him now. We can rest in Him!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Kathleen
My greatest times of peace come when I remember the battle is the Lord's! Thanks for the head's up on S.Play. Blocked him; he has something to do with gambling sights. SO glad you called our attention to him.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to answer the question you asked on my blog. The photo was taken from inside; I stood under the skylight indoors and took it. Have a happy day!

@ Sassy Granny,
ReplyDeleteAmen! ...and every knee shall bow to the King of all Kings. Thanks for visiting and picking up the pencil to connect.
@ Jeanne,
Mine too. It is a freeing moment when He reminds me that the battle is not only His but it has already been won!
Thanks for heeding my warning. And for always visiting with me at my place - thanks too for picking up the pencil to connect.
@ S. Etole,
They are such a great reminder. I wanted them onmy blog to refer to over and over. They have POWER . In fact power is released when I read them.
Thanks for visiting and picking up the pencil to connect.
@ Beth,
So nice to see your face at my place. Welcome. How awesome is that - that all things are held together through HIM! Kinda like the belt of TRUTH!! He is the belt of TRUTH that holds our armor together too. Without the belt, we'd lose our 'pants' to the enemy! hahha
@ Elaine,
That's when the enemy loves to attack. You are so right. Glad they were posted here for your reminder. Nice to see you again on the Bridge. Thanks for picking up the pencil to connect. May God protect you and your family through these changes and challenges of which you speak.
@ TRUTHSHARER

Peace & love to you,

These verses clearly paint the picture or maybe I should say billboard for us to understand whose battle it is. Often we forget and think the battle is ours. Thanks for visiting my blog. Turtles really collect me vs. me collect them but I am a turtle girl. Blessings to you! B
ReplyDeleteGood scriptures - especially since 600 people were laid off today where I work...so very thankful I was spared!

Patrina, thank you so much for praying for my son. God did indeed show up in the courtroom, and justice prevailed!
ReplyDeleteI hope to get to know you better through our blogs!
there always are reasons to be thankful
ReplyDeletePatrina,
ReplyDeleteI participated in the 'One World One Heart' blog event, and someone who visited my blog and read the 'If I only had a brain' post emailed to share the link to TED. I had never heard of TED before, and I don't know if there are any updates.
There is a movie that is similar to the right brain thinking...I can't think of the name right now, but it was filmed in Peru. There was a group of people who were tapping into the right brain thinking mode (though it was never mentioned) and they could see each other's auras, etc. I know this sounds sort of new age, and some people hear things like this and they run, but as a Christian I can't help but see the connection to God.
Could you reply to this comment with your email address? I would really like to keep in touch...
Wonderful battle/victory verses!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the comments you left on my blog and email. Isn't it amazing how the Lord weave's us together in the blogosphere to minister encouragement to one another and strength for the journey!! Glory to God!
I'm following you now and look forward to getting to know you better!
Sweet Blessings!
Jackie

Patrina,
ReplyDeleteGood day, ma'am. Following the wonders of technology, somehow I found you because you linked my post-abortion ministry site on your blog. Thank you, kind sister in Christ, for reaching out in His name!
Sometimes I wonder if anyone is even reading it. It doesn't really matter what I think though--I am simply following God's plan. And He will do the rest.
May we all continue to shine His light into places of darkness and encourage one another with love, healing, and renewing.
Blessings,
Darlene

Blessings to you Samuel,my friend! It is always a pleasure to see your smile and chew your simple empowering and encouraging WISDOM. Thanks for picking up the pencil to connect with me today on the BRIDGE - and for that sturdy pencil that you put to vital use at your place.
