Mama's like the Good Shepherd

This was so refreshing - I had to replay it more than once.
I loved it when she said "Of all times - we're snagged on a rock."

It made me think of all the times the enemy turns to attack me when I 'growl' at him. I get fearful and sometimes can't move - I get snagged on a rock. But then the Holy Spirit reminds me that God didn't give me a spirit of fear but of power and of a sound mind. I have been given the authority of Jesus Christ, to STAND up in the boat and tell him to get the heck off of my property!

Even if he just happens to be hanging around in the bushes - on my innocent stroll down the river - I have the authority to say 'back off' and keep on paddling. It's not advisable to get out of the boat at this time. After all, he does roam this place seeking whomever he can devour.

Just keep on paddling - it will be OK

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Tim 1:7

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:11

  1. Love this, Patrina. You sound
like someone who has to go to
war as much as I do. And we
    can't battle when we're allowing
a spirit of fear to overtake us.
God gave Jesus all authority who
in turn gave it to us. Of course
the enemy is not going to just
let us win without a fight. I
    hate confrontation but worse than
that I hate the devil attempting
to take or keep from me what the
blood of Jesus has already paid
for me to have. So I fight.

  2. Oh yes! We have to keep our eyes off circumstances and keep on paddling. The devil knows our weakest spot and there is where he will attack if we are not on our guard. But we don't have to fear because we know who guides us across the rough places. Let's just keep on fighting and we will conquer.

  3. I too loved this post. It helps when we keep our focus on the One who created the world. We must but call on Him to save us. Thank you for sharing this today-I needed this reminder.

  4. Wise words! The devil is our enemy, after all. Is he stronger than us? Not with the blood of Jesus. But we still cannot afford to be reckless. Remember the scripture where the disciples came back from their assignment rejoicing because the demons obeyed them? Jesus told them not to rejoice in that, but only to rejoice in their salvation. I even wrote a devotional on this.

    Great post, Patrina!

  5. Awesome reminder! And I'm so grateful that the Lord's weapons are available to us, believers. Since we need His supernatural weapons anyway. God bless you and protect you sister.

  8. First of all, I loved the video you posted. My husband wants to go to Alaska so badly. He'd love to live there but since we live in Phoenix, I just think that would be too much of a change in weather. I'll settle on visiting first. :)

You made some good points about the enemy. I loved that you used Scripture. Nothing like it when facing an enemy.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me on Heart Choices. I was delighted to read your kind comment. Thank you ...

    blessings and love,
    Debbie

  9. I relate to this and I need to do some growling at the enemy... he has me feeling a little too 'snagged' lately.

I loved the video... I love animals so much, and this was medicine tonight.

  11. EXCELLENT Post there my warrior friend!
"It's not advisable to get out of the boat at this time" -- AMEN!!
I don't have to leave the boat to stand in the authority I've been given through Jesus.
Oh this one was soooo good.
    Hugs,
    Deb

  12. Wise words, indeed! I loved how you talked back to the enemy - "BACK OFF!" Only in the power of Jesus do we have that authority! AMEN!

Keep on paddling - it will be OK. Yes, how often do I just stop moving when I am intimidated by attacks? (Way too often, that's for sure!) But I must always remember, that God will guide me down that river, and HE is the One who knows the way - where the shallows are, the low-hanging branches, the rapids, and the peaceful streams.

    Thanks for this word today!

    GOD BLESS!

  13. Hello Patrina,

(I couldn't get a password to work - this is "BoxMeNot" Ellen.)

I received your message on my blog and was so happy to hear from you!

Do you use an email address or is this the only way I can reply to you?

I love the 'Pencil in the hand of God' acclamation. Did you see the Mother Teresa Movie? It is wonderful. I see you are allowing the Holy Spirit to write through you!

Thank you for your prayers and concern - it means so much to me!

No... no box for me my friend. Yes, you know 'who' has tried to box me in but to no avail because when you're free and you know it, you are free indeed! And I know I am free - I thank God, no more doubting this.

I simply can't post as often as I'd like currently because I have so many coals in the fire. I have some deadlines which I am believing to bring to fruition in the next five months. Then I'd love to post more often. I did start a new post, but had to put it aside. Maybe I can get back and finish it soon.

Thank you for making my day by letting me know you miss me! God bless you my friend!

  14. The video took forever to load, so today must be one of those cyber slow days around here...but I'll surely come back later when the "traffic" has eased up.

So I feasted on the words you wrote, with all the Scripture in there.

The enemy wants to intimidate us, but he knows he's a defeated enemy.

We have the Victor living in us...

We just need to walk in wisdom and discernment, and NEVER IN FEAR!

May we never allow the enemy to steal our voice, our roar... and let the mighty roar of the Lion of Judah arise from deep within of us where the enemy often wants to silence us!

Great and timely post, as always, Patrina!

    Love
    Lidj

  20. Great post, Patrina!
I'm just getting around to visiting today. I love the visual of the Good Shepherd. He leads the way, guides, steers, untagles, frees, rescues, clears the way, goes before us, calms by His Presence, holds our hand, walks with us, never leaves us - and best of all He's the only ONE who knows the way!

    Choosing JOY, Stephanie
