Day 2 ~ Personal Focus ~ Express His Heart

Securely HELD

In Day 2: Chuck encouraged us...

Learn to express His heart!
Memorize and Mediate on
Proverbs 29:18
2 Chronicles 20:20.

Prophecy is expressing
the mind and heart of God.
Let the Lord deal with
your emotions.
Invite the Spirit of God
to subdue your emotions
so His heartbeat can be heard.
Declare that all self-pity a
nd hope deferred is
being removed from you.
Command bitterness
and unforgiveness
to leave your soul.

Express the heart of God
in your thinking.
Don't let inordinate affections
cause inappropriate alignments
in your life.
The heart can have weights
or attachments.
I declare a "free" heart over you.
Without correct prophetic revelation
we perish.

The Lord expounded on this
in my life yesterday...

What began as a  'terrible, horrible,
no good, very bad day'....
ended with being HELD
in the arms of the Everlasting God.

Thats the point I want to make!

I had some frightening stuff
taunting me almost as soon
as I awoke yesterday.
It was an issue of possible
identity breech.
Scarey stuff!

The Bible Study girls
were about to arrive.
Only 1 came,
which was ordained.
I shared...she listened.
And God somehow led us
in our conversation; prayer...
and took us to the right WORD
to express His Heart towards us
and deliver His PEACE

The Holy Spirit delivered
in the midst of the two of us...
a scripture that actually came
from our seeking to fully understand
the terror of the 5th angel in Rev 9 ...
focusing on verse 4...

" They were told not to harm the grass or plants or trees, but only the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads".

We wanted to know more
about this SEAL.
Cross reference after cross reference
spoke the same thing...
'the seal of God on their foreheads'.

THEN, we saw it!

And when we saw it,
It made its HOME in us!
It released a KNOWING...
an 'overcomers' attitude in us.

It took me a couple of hours
to settle into this NEW feeling.
But slowly and gently...
as He had me reading about
His PEACE in His WORD...
I felt the HOLY SPIRIT
simply wash away my anxiety!
In ways I can't even
begin to describe or understand.

He encapsulated and insulated
me from the horrible possibilities.

It never left me!

The STUFF that detailed
the 'terrible, horrible,
no good, very bad day'...
didn't go away until 6pm.
It was as if the HOLY SPIRIT
just quietly shut the door...
and His PEACE reigned!

As I and my friend touched base
throughout the day...
both of us were resting
in His powerful WORD to us!
We were SEALED!
The HOLY SPIRIT had released
a tangible force within us.

We were still basking
in its encompassing power...
as we pulled the shades
for restful sleep!

It WAS for sure -
a  'terrible, horrible,
no good, very bad day'.
But the Lord joined us
at the very beginning
with His TRUTH!
It was His TRUTH,
that carried me through...
not just to the other side of it...
but He filled both our spirits
with the Spirit of Peace.
His Peace made its HOME in us!

Chuck's words came back to me today....

Prophecy is expressing the mind and heart of God.
Let the Lord deal with your emotions.
Invite the Spirit of God to subdue your emotions
so His heartbeat can be heard.
Declare that all self-pity and hope deferred
is being removed from you.
Express the heart of God in your thinking.
Don't let inordinate affections cause
inappropriate alignments in your life.
The heart can have weights or attachments.

I declare a "free" heart over you.

"Without correct
prophetic revelation we perish. "

Do you know the scripture
that was laid before us...
in the midst of my 'terrible, horrible,
no good, very bad day'?
It was from Eph 1: 12-14;
focusing on 14

"...When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14.  who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory." NIV

As Christians,
We have recieved a deposit.
We are MARKED; IDENTIFIED ...
with His SEAL of Promised Inheritance.
Not only is the HOLY SPIRIT within us...
We are SEALED with His Presence.
He goes before us and
protects us from behind.
This was NOT news to me.
It was head knowledge.
I even believed it in my spirit.

BUT GOD....

Through His all encompassing LOVE,
allowed me to see
His FORM in this season...
in a tangible way.
The shades from my previous
living and learning that veiled
or protected my eyes....
were opened to reveal
the Sovereign TRUTH
of His Promised Inheritance!
For TODAY!
The power of Holy Spirit quickened
my spirit to receive its TRUTH
in a NEW WAY!

God Expressed HIS Heart
In a Powerful Way!

I will never forget it!
Another layer closer ...
to the HEART of God!

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. ~ Gal 3:14 NIV

And this morning,
upon awakening...
I realized that I had slept
just like a trusting baby!
It was a peaceful KNOWING!

I was reminded of
Kathleen's post on TRUST.
I could see Molly's small hand
raised above the water
as she became submerged...
KNOWING that her mama
would not fail to rescue her!
It was such a WORD picture!

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.… ~ Proverbs 3:5-6
O May you know that you KNOW...
that the HOLY SPIRIT
has MARKED you...
IDENTIFIED you with...
His Promised Inheritance!
If you do not know what it's like
to be securely HELD
in the everlasting arms
of God the Heavenly Father...
I encourage you to seek Him out.
SEEK Him and He will find you!
He knows exactly where you are.
He KNOWS!

PRAYER FOCUS

Lord Jesus, we Thank you and praise you for who you are...and who you have become in our lives. You have sealed us with your promise of eternal life with you...our promised land. And with that promise...comes a deeper knowledge, a wisdom beyond our mere understanding. Thank you for being in us and all around us every day of our lives; For going ahead to warn and prepare us; For protecting us from our blind side...that we not be destroyed in our lack. We praise You, Lord,  and ask that you give us MORE of YOU, as we seek higher ground. May your will be done on earth in our lives as it is Heaven! Continue to express your heart to us in tangible ways...that we might grasp how WIDE and HIGH and LONG and DEEP is your Sovereign LOVE for us.  ~ In the Name of Jesus...AMEN!

  1. Oh my....I need to absorb every word of this. Long story short...my neice and nephew fabulous prayer warriors came thru my town and went to eat together and before they left, out on the dark driveway, they prayed mightily for me. And when finished, she suggested I REALLY learn to REST in the Lord....to be still, especially in my heart and wait on HIM and Allow Him to do what is next. I love the sound of it, as I am a "pusher" of things to happen. Then Sunday EARLY in the morning I heard a baby puppy crying and crying....he was on my porch newly weaned, shaking and came right to me. He is a dog! But he looks at me more intently than any person in the last years. I didn't want a dog , but in 2 days I am attached as he is so tiny, a chihuahua probably, and ... well....I have him ..... and will probably keep him. the only thing I can think is he takes my focus off of ME and I also will have to stay home more.....really, maybe that is what I am supposed to do. I AM in a bible study studying Paul ..... really, really loving it! To Live Is Christ....so love this post and NEED to focus on it again.... I would love being still.

    1. Sherry,
      How profound..this statement...
"he looks at me more intently than any person in the last years"

WOW! Seems like God is expressing HIS HEART to YOU! ...through this tiny little puppy.
as busy as you are...and as creative as you are...this is amazing that the Lord introduced a puppy into your life. Puppies are high maintenance :) But obviously just what the Lord ordered.

I declare a FREE heart over you! A free heart is a peaceful heart. A peaceful heart is a body at REST. Praying for you sweet friend. I do think the world is too busy. We don't take time for each other. The older we get...the more we realize what we've allowed to get away.

There is NOTHING more important than our relationship with the LORD. I know you know this.

I find myself wondering sometimes if we are closely approaching the times where the Lord said through Joel 2:28 and in Acts 2:17-18..."'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy."

I think He's preparing us. He's drawing us close. Its such a gentle wooing. Like your puppy's ability to look at you more intently than any person in the last years. WOW! a tangible presence...a tangible living example of being HELD in the everlasting arms of the Father. Never underestimate the Lord's ways. He KNOWS us. He KNOWS just what we need. He KNOWS just how to deliver. And to think that He delivered it on your FRONT PORCH! Now I know that's a WORD for you :)

      hugs and prayers,

  2. On a second and more thoughtful look, what stuck out to my Hubby and I for this new place we live in was the quote...."Don't let inordinate affections cause inappropriate alignments in your life." Since we are resettled in a new place, we question each new thing we get involved in....and now I see why. This was the definition for these words in a bible study...which means...EVERY PASSION (in act, word or thought) WHICH DOES NOT FLOW FROM and LEAD TO ...THE LOVE OF GOD. This post has helped us to look closer at what things are put before us....I didn't know what "inordinate " meant.

    1. Thank you Sherry for clarifying 'Inordinate affection' for us. VERY good point!

I love how you stated it "EVERY PASSION (in act, word or thought) WHICH DOES NOT FLOW FROM and LEAD TO ...THE LOVE OF GOD."

I learned this truth many years ago. It was downloaded to me by the HOLY SPIRIT....as 'miss-directed' passion. We were created for a passion for God. Satan manipulated that passion in the garden scene and called it bad. He's been coloring it his way ever since.

Passion (from the Latin verb patī meaning to suffer) is a term applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion compelling, enthusiasm, or desire for anything. Greek and Hebrew identify it with lust...which is idolatry...and thus 'miss-directed' passion. Lust is a spirit which blinds us from reality. Lust distracts and manipulates and twists things around to appear good....and takes our focus off of a single passion for God the Father - our initial created purpose. Sin mucked us all up! BUT GOD....!!!

So when Chuck said ..."Don't let inordinate affections cause inappropriate alignments in your life. The heart can have weights or attachments."

Those weights and attachment are those things you mentioned....actions, words, thots...but also the weight of idolatry. It attaches itself to us and becomes so much a part of us that we can't see it as bad...or indifferent or separating us from freedom in Christ Jesus alone. I KNOW! I've been hoodwinked by it. But by the grace of God...He delivered me and set me FREE and he whom the Spirit of the Lord sets free is free indeed!

Definitely! We must take everything that invites our attention or devotion...before the Lord and His WORD...and discern, as you stated... whether it flows from or leads to the Love of God....or is is 'miss-directed' passion!

Thanks Sherry for you comment and for taking the time to share your heart. I'm so glad my sharing helped you take a deeper look.

      hugs

  3. Hi Patrina,
I am so glad that what appeared to be a bad day proved to be a good day. We definitely can not go by emotions. Proverbs ch. 3 vs 5 and 6 are some of the words the Lord spoke to me when I first became born again. His word proves very true when we trust in Him.
    God bless.

  4. If we dress ourselves in the armor of God everyday...before getting out of bed...we would be mindfully and spiritually protected. I used to be active about mindfully dressing myself...I don't know why I stopped. But I know I must begin again!

Yes....we cannot lean on our own understanding! Our emotions cloud our thinking and stress dumps adrenalin into our system and works against us! By standing outside the circle of TRUST...we are targets for anything that happens to fly by us!

Thanks for visiting and picking up the pencil, Brenda.
