My Preface ~ to the Nine Day Prayer Focus

I am a sinner... saved by God's Grace.
I am an onion in the hands of the loving Heavenly Father. I stink as the Holy Spirit exposes and peels away layer ...after layer...after layer, that I might know the fullness of the heart of God.

Because the Lord Jesus Christ has ransomed me from the darkness of my soul, to exchange my heart of stone...for a heart of flesh - I earnestly and diligently study the Word of God...to be found a worthy servant... approved by 'the eye of God'....not man.

I strive for humility...to share from the Gospel openly, and freely, with all sincerity, as he makes it KNOWN to me. I persevere that I may apprehend the true sense of Scripture, not taking from it, or adding to it; the truth in it, and showing others...upon opportunity...plainly and faithfully the Gospel contained in it - the way of salvation. Keeping nothing back, but declaring the whole counsel of God....as He makes the MORE of Him KNOWN to me.

I do not profess to be a Bible scholar or teacher...only a disciple of Christ Jesus.  I do not easily comprehend the way others might. God knows my disability. He created me this way. Therefore, It remains a struggle for me to understand much of Scripture. But He has been gracious unto me...by showing me who He is through many other avenues and people...using the fullness of who He is...through the work of the Holy Spirit in me...to draw me close. God created me with a deficit in many areas...on purpose.

The Holy Spirit supplements my self-study and my inabilities by leading me to another's 'gift' of anointed teaching...Biblical interpretation, application...spiritual discernment and personal testimony - to establish ' His' TRUTH in me, as I strive to discern, understand and testify according to the witness of the Holy Spirit in me.

The Lord knows me better than I know myself. He knows the hidden places known or unknown to me. He knows the way that I take. He has called me to love the study of Scripture in order to help me grow in truth and faithfulness to His enduring service. He has  'gifted' me according to the instrument He created me to be.  I am a seeker, a student of the inherent Word of God - the Bible. I am an encourager, sometimes an exhorter, and I am an intercessor - through prayer and sometimes fasting.

Please don't judge me or call me a false teacher. I would never knowingly falsify the Holy Word of God. This is a vulnerable place for me. I have never attempted to publicly share my 'self-study' of the Word of God. I share with a healthy fear...knowing that I am the least of the 'wise'. I do not share from pride, for approval, or applause. I share as an obedient servant to the Lord's testimony in me. It is He that makes the crooked places straight. I can only grow to emulate the likeness of Him... if I push through the envelope of fears and insecurities of being unfairly judged by my fellow man. The Holy Spirit is working overtime to eradicate these ancient roots that were subtly planted in the garden of my childhood.

It is my HOPE and my PRAYER that the Lord might awaken His voice in me...to encourage another like me ...to trust His voice...His testimony...His witness...which is also in them. To step up... to submit to the workings of the Holy Spirit, to gently peel away the layers of their onion...that they might discover the fullness of the heart of God.

With that said...I will attempt to share my notes - if any - as I focus on each Day. I use http://biblehub.com/ as my main study tool. I will post the current Day focus in advance of sharing my notes...so that you can do your own personal study with the Lord. Day 1 has already been posted here

Please feel free to add your thots, enlightenment or questions in the comment section of each posted Day or study notes. Healthy discussion is totally encouraged. If you feel I am misguided in some aspect of my study...please be kind enough to point me in the right direction - that I might study and further discern the truth of Scripture.

Thank you for joining me. May the Lord be gracious unto you and cause His face to shine upon you and give you His peace.
Blessings,
patrina

Day 1 ~ of Nine Day Prayer Focus ~ Develop His Mind

"Deliverance is a constant process.
Do not deny yourself the deliverance
you require to be whole in Christ.
There is always another layer
to your onion."  ~ Chuck Pierce

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus...who made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant...He humbled Himself and became obedient." ~ Philippians 2:5-8

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."  ~ Romans 12:2

"The carnal mind is in enmity with God."  ~ Romans 8:7

TODAY, I begin a Nine Day Prayer Focus
It was given by Chuck Pierce in 2008.

Regarding my current situation...
being stretched to TRUST His Plan....
to OVERCOME the insecurities
that threaten to devour me ....
God caused me to revisit this Focus.

TODAY, I begin a renewed walk.
TODAY, I earnestly seek His Will
TODAY, I am open for MORE
TODAY, I submit to the peeling
TODAY, I surrender MY Onion!

I surrender MY Onion
to the Most High KING!
That through His peeling
and revealing...
I am made whole!

May I encourage YOU
to surrender YOUR Onion
to the peeling work ...
of the MOST HIGH KING!

Join me for this 9-Day Prayer Focus

Day 1:

Develop His MIND!

Read Philippians 2 and Romans 8.

Don't lean on your own understanding.
You will never make the right choice
with your limited knowledge.

Philippians 2:5-8 says,
"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus...who made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant...He humbled Himself and became obedient."

Romans 12:2 says,

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Don't let satan's scheme fashion you
into one who thinks like the world.
Don't let outward appearances deceive you,
causing you to miss what God is doing.
We must prove the voice of God,
and practice in everyday life
what God's will from Heaven
is declaring to us.

Romans 8:7 says,

"The carnal mind
is in enmity with God."
Declare that the Lord
will put His finger on
every area of carnality
in your thinking.

Heavenly Father, thank you
for sending your Son
that we might understand
a portion of your Divine nature.
That we might seek
to follow Christ's example ...
as He walked on earth as a man.
Open our eyes, hearts, ears
and mind to your mind ...
through Christ Jesus.
Search our hearts...
if there be anything within us
that is not of you, uproot it!
Separate us from it
by the renewing of our mind...
by syncing our mind
with the perfect mind
and will of our Redeemer.
As Chuck encouraged...
put your finger on everything
that has the signature of a carnal mind
and lead us to the Rock that is higher.
Continue to teach us your ways, Lord.
Help us to stand on the Rock
instead of sinking sand.
Help us to discern your truth...
even in those things and seasons
that we don't understand.
And when discernment tarries...
build up our Faith and Trust
by showing us your form
for that particular season.
May we learn to discern your form.
Awaken us. Encourage us...
and prompt us to move outside
of our personal realm of comfort...
to bestow the kindness
of Christ's Divine Kingdom....
towards our fellow man ...
regardless of race or color...
beliefs or conviction....
financial status or political opinion.

In The name of Jesus...Amen.

Your warrior Bride

Day 13 ~ God's LOVE is WIDE and HIGH and LONG and DEEP

"I have carried you
since your birth...
I will continue
to be with you
and sustain you,
even when you
have grey hairs;
I will always carry you;
I will always rescue you.
Keep your mind focused
on me and I will keep
you in perfect peace."

~ Your Heavenly Father

One of my favorite songs...
I particularly love Lynda's rich low voice.

REST in KNOWING that He is in control.
He is the Alpha and the Omega...
the BEGINNING and the END.
He carries the weight of the entire world..
upon His shoulders. He REIGNS and RULES
over ALL! JESUS is the KING of ALL Kings.
His KINGDOM will be the last one standing!
As followers of CHRIST, we are
sons and daughters of the KING!
Expect then - my sister and my brother...
that He WILL carry us through!

O how WIDE and HIGH and LONG and DEEP
is the Heavenly Father's love for YOU and Me.

Day 12: God's LOVE is WIDE and HIGH and LONG and DEEP

I will lead the blind
by a way they did not know;
I will guide them on paths
they have not known.
I will turn darkness to light
in front of them
and rough places into level ground.
This is what I will do for them,
and I will not forsake them.

Wait on Me,
I will show you My ways;
I will teach you My paths;
I will lead you in truth;
I am the God of your salvation."

~ Your Heavenly Father

taken from Isaiah 42:16; Psalm 25: 4-5

Born Frances Jane Crosby in 1820,
Fanny Crosby was probably
the most prolific hymnist in history.
She became affectionately known as
'Aunt' Fanny or simply Fanny.
Though blinded by an incompetent
doctor at six weeks of age,
over 8,000 hymns are attributed
to her gift of being able to hear
and see in ways few ever attain.

"It seemed intended
by the blessed providence of God
that I should be blind all my life,
and I thank him for the dispensation.
If perfect earthly sight were offered
me tomorrow I would not accept it.
I might not have sung hymns
to the praise of God if I had been
distracted by the beautiful
and interesting things about me....
If I had a choice, I would still choose
to remain blind…
for when I die, the first face
I will ever see will be the face
of my blessed Saviour."
~ Fanny Crosby

One of her most loved HYMNS
was 'Blessed Assurance Jesus is Mine'.

Speaking of how the words
came to her, she said:

"My friend, Mrs. Joseph F. Knapp,
composed a melody and played
it over to me two or three times
on the piano. She then asked
what it said. I replied,
“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!”

Blessed Assurance

Blessèd assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

O How WIDE and HIGH and LONG and DEEP
is God's LOVE for YOU and ME

I love that her songs were present
with the soldiers in time of war.
The following account blesses my spirit
and causes me to wonder...
how different might our world might be ...
had this 'contributing honor'
been allowed to continue -
considering the war against Christians
in the military these days.

“During the recent war in the Transvaal,”
said a gentleman at my meeting
in Exeter Hall, London, in 1900,
“when the soldiers going to the
front were passing another body
of soldiers whom they recognized,
their greetings used to be,
‘Four-nine-four, boys;
four-nine-four;’
and the salute would
invariably be answered with
‘Six further on, boys;
six further on.’
The significance of this was that,
in ‘Sacred Songs and Solos,’
a number of copies of the small
edition of which had been sent
to the front,
number 494 was
God be with you until we meet again;’
and six further on than 494,
or number 500, was
 ‘Blessed Assurance,
Jesus is mine.’”
Sankey, p. 122

In her lifetime, Fanny Crosby
was one of the best known women
in the United States.
To this day, the vast majority
of American hymnals contain her work.
When Fanny died, her tombstone
carried the words, “Aunt Fanny”
and “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine.
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine.”

Many of my favorite HYMNS and wealth
of Scripture were largely due to
'Aunt' Fanny's gift of WORDS....
written on her Heart with indelible ink...
and melting with mine.

Blessed Assurance
I Must Tell Jesus
Are You Washed in the Blood
Down At the Cross
Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
All Hail the Power of Jesus Name
He Hideth My Soul
Jesus is Tenderly Calling You Home
Near The Cross
Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It
Pass Me Not O Gentle Savior
Rescue The Perishing
Tell me the Story of Jesus
To God Be The Glory
All the Way My Savior Leads Me

Many thanks to Cyberhymnal

Day 11: God's LOVE is WIDE and HIGH and LONG and DEEP

"I am your hiding place, I will protect you from trouble and surround you with songs of deliverance...I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go...I will counsel you and watch over you. Rejoice in Me..."

~ Your Heavenly Father

taken from Psalm 32: 7-11

It was a scarey thot...
what WAS and yet WASN'T

There we sat...
away from the rain -
inside the little dinner -
eating our specialty
Hamburger and Fries.

I WAS surprised
at the instant shock -
that jolted me with fear.
When I looked up...
I recognized it as a
bullet hole right away.

As my eyes settled
on what WAS...
and yet WASN'T,
I WAS astounded
that I hadn't noticed
it straight away!

The hole WAS definitely
straight thru the thick glass.
It WAS directly
at my line of sight.
Thankfully...it WAS
from another time..
and WASN'T meant for me!

I thot about why...
out of an entire dinner...
empty for the most part,
We chose to sit at this
very targeted spot!
Totally unaware of the
position it held.

"WAS someone else
sitting right here where
I WAS now sitting...
when that hole WAS made?"
I couldn't bear the thot!
I found myself praying...
in the midst of what WAS
and yet WASN'T.

Praying over what WAS
in another time..
and praising for what
WAS and WASN'T
in the here and now!
My steps are ordered

by the Lord!

O how WIDE  and HIGH and

LONG and DEEP is the Heavenly

Father's LOVE for YOU and ME!

The LORD is my
Shepherd.
I have everything
I need!
