Let the Stranger Speak

Harry Anderson, Artist
(C) Review and Hearld

There is a stranger in the council hall
Where nations meet to plan the peace again.
He sits unnoticed by the farther wall,
His eyes upon the leaders among men.
His ears attend their clearly laid designs
For living in tomorrow's homes and marts,
As though beneath their spoken words and lines
He hears the inner voices of their heqrts.
But when the delegates of all the world
Have cried their million wants, and lists are long,
And after blueprints, charts, and plans are hurled
In varied protest at the core of wrong,
He is our HOPE; He is the PEACE we seek.
O listen World, and let the stranger speak!

-Author Unknown

Psalm 1: 1-41 NIV

1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 2: 1-12 NIV

1 Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together
against the LORD
and against his Anointed One.
3 "Let us break their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
5 Then he rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
6 "I have installed my King
on Zion, my holy hill."
7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD :
He said to me, "You are my Son ;
today I have become your Father.
8 Ask of me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

  1. As a born again in 1990, I live by my lords words and he gives me wisdom, but here in this heathen country its hard to live the life that the lord has meant for me, the devil and deciet is all around me, its a country I chose to live because this is where the lord sent me in 2002.
this is the country I live in with no pain, arthritis is not a nice thing to have to live with especially when I have to be dependent on my wife to push me around in a wheelchair that is if I was able to get into one. you commented on poor people the only poor people here are the ones who choose to live like they do, none of the Copts or Christians live like the muslim. I as a Christian and got caught in that feeling sorry for the devils own peple. who in turn robbed me. as they do with so many including themselves, you can read my blog justliars put the normal blogspot.com
God is and always has been good to me giving me a kind heart was not his intention on being robbed. I asked as a new born that he would soften my heart, so I could forgive those who had wronged me and also to ask forgivness in the so many I had wronged, this led me on to greater things I would never of dreamed of . such as helping the poor in so many countries and giving of my time freely to those less fortunate than myself. and after you read my story on Just liars. remember I still have a good life I need for nothing apart from my wife of 46 years being here with me all the time,
the lord blesses me every day with his wonders, every time I go out I pray show me something new. and he does" everyday " simple things today I saw shells in the Nile, wasps that eat other insects. not only did he bring me here to build a new clinic for the poor in 2002 but to show me what I have missed all these years. his creation,
and I know that when I die he will show me all that I have not and cannot see. he is also showing me what believing in the devil will do I see this also every day.

  2. Thanks, Tony for sharing your deeper view.

As I began writing in response, I decided to scrap it and just make it my next post. So we can further our hearty conversation then, if you choose. I do appreciate that you took the time to scribe your thots here. They were very mindfully and heartfully written. They caused me to ponder my own deeper view.

So, until our next visit on the bridge, God bless you for being a pencil in the hand of God.

  3. Hi Patrina,

I don't know how you found me and why you felt called to leave me the most beautiful, encouraging, heartfelt, generous, loving, kind comments......but I am so very grateful and thankful that you did.

What a beautiful spirit you are. If the world were filled with people like you, what a kinder place it would be.

Your words carried me and helped to give me confidance and peace. I just wanted you to know.

Thank you and may the Lord bless you each and every day,

    Gentle, warm hugs for you,

  4. Lisa :)

I am honored by your kind words. I was afraid that I might have made you feel pressured, when I only meant to encourage.

This is who I am. I pray about my blog and my blogging experience. I ask the Lord to connect me with those that need His encourgement. I saw your "Laughing Orca Ranch" on someone's comments - probably - "all horse stuff". I was drawn to the Laughing part :) of your blog's headline. My first read was the night you were feeling melancholy. I knew then, that I was to encourage you and pray for you. I've been prayerful over your situation ever since, and I will not stop. You can count on that!

Thanks for letting me know that the penciled words I scribed to you - carried you and gave you peace. But it wasn't just my words that carried you - it was the arms of the Almighty God.

I was ready to give up on blogging a couple of days or so ago. It wasn't meeting my need for hearty conversation. I prayed about it. I asked the Lord to give me a reason to continue. And here you are. The Lord has given you victory and me reason to press on. Thank you, for encouraging me today!

I don't yet know you, but the Lord does. I tend to write as if I know those of whom I'm writng to, because the Lord just gives me a "knowing" feeling. He filled me with a warm desire to see you walking in victory. I actually saw you riding Baby Doll in my mind. The words were my part - God did the rest. It was His plan from the beginning to carry you through your fear. For God did not give us a spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7. He's in the business of high walls and prison doors. You had a high wall to mount and fear was holding you prisoner.

It isn't over yet. You have a long ways to go. but it looks a whole lot differnt from up there on that horse then it did on the ground looking up, doesn't it?

You've been given a differnt set of eyes this Christmas. You'll see things differently from this new perspective. Things will become clear for you and you'll know what your next step is to be.

Ask the Lord what He wants to show you this year. Ask where He wants to take you, and what He's waiting to give you. He has plans for you, Lisa. You're a gutsy woman. You don't give up or give in too easily. You have tenacity. It will serve you well in the new year.

Again, blessings be upon you continually. Give her more, Lord! And thank you - for being a pencil in the hand of God today!

    Hugs, Patrina

  13. Patrina:

Thanks for joining up to follow my blog. When I came over to your blog today - the Lord had a big surprise for me there. The heading 'picture' of the 'script' in the sky was a reminder of the promises He wrote to me two years ago this month - as I have an almost exact same photo that was very significant. He has also used those same scriptures with me to show Himself and His glory!

May God be praised today as He has connected us for His kingdom puposes! Nice to meet you.

  14. Stephanie,

Thanks for connecting on the Bridge. Thanks for being a pencil in the hand of God, both here and on your blog. I haven't had time to search your blog but I already have seena nd read enough to know that I want to read more and be a christain supporter of His Kingdom with you.

The header on my blog was very special to me too. I actually took two views, and one of the views has a bi-plane in the upper left corner. This one shows the plane almost in the center of the cross. It is visible when the photo is zoomed.

I often take pictures of the skies. The Lord gives me what I call "windows to heaven". This header is one of those. It is doubly special because of the two jet streams that formed a cross.

Most people see it as an X - but to those who've been give new eyes, it will always be a cross!

I'm so glad you saw the beauty in it, and the promise. Would love to see your photo of His "script" in the heavens.

Again, thanks for connecting on the Bridge. May our blogs be a blessing to each other, and those who read them, as we choose to honor Jesus.
