The EYES of HOPE

EYES of HOPE..... And Thanksgiving
Of the 16 year old Haiti girl that was rescued 15 days after the devastating earthquake.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – A 16-year-old girl pulled from the rubble more than two weeks after a deadly earthquake was in stable condition Thursday, able to eat yogurt and mashed vegetables to the surprise of doctors, who said her survival was medically inexplicable.

A Miracle! "Medically inexplainable" - makes this a proclamation that it is a MIRACLE! indeed! Never say Never! Hope has a footprint all of its own.

They shouted "She's ALIVE! "One who didn't seem surprised was the girl's mother, a poor rice-and-vegetable peddler."I never thought she was dead," Kerline Dorcant, 39, told The Associated Press. "I always thought she was alive." Why? "It's God" hearing a mother's nonstop prayers, she said. Added Darlene's younger brother, Preslin: "I think she has a special God."

In rebuttal to the many heartless comments on Facebook and Twitter and probably Blogville - about God's so called JUDGMENT on Haiti for the pact that the country made with the devil generations ago - I give you this: The eyes of hope!

God is still in the business of Overcoming High Walls and Opening Prison Doors. Never underestimate the POWER and LOVE of the Almighty God. HIS EYE was on this young girl from the moment of impact - until her divine rescue. WHY she survived to tell about it, and others did not - is God's story, and none other than God, has the credentials to write it.

FAITH can move mountains of rubble
and find LIFE
where there is no medical explanation for LIFE!
BELIEVE it or not!

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Matt 17:20

The Greatest is LOVE

1 If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.
3 If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.
5 It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!
9 Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!
10 But when full understanding comes, these partial things will become useless.
11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.
12 Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.
13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
1 Cor. 13 NLT
In the midst of many faithless uncaring Americans, sitting in their safe and secure surroundings – passing intolerant judgment on the hurting, devastated, vulnerable people of Haiti –

FAITH and LOVE –Uncovered this young LIFE from beneath the mountain of rubble – when all HOPE had vanished.

This small candle is the same icon that was copied from the internet page where people could lite a candle for the missing lives buried beneath the rubble of 911. This is the candle that I lit. It has remained burning on my computer ever since that day. I bring it into the LIGHT today - in celebration of this life and the many others who have been rescued. And it will continue to burn - and never die out - for all those still missing. This Blogger is thankfully giving praise to God and to the countless people who have given towards the efforts of charity and devoted time spent in the rescuing and caregiving of these precious, innocent lives. To God be the Glory. His love endures forever and ever.

May HOPE never ever die.

  1. When I saw this rescue, I forgot to breathe for a moment. It makes me understand all those people who cry out in a crisis, "Don't give up, please please keep looking for them." They say after three days there is very little likelihood they will be found alive. Now we know—proof God can do whatever He desires. It's always in His hands.

  2. It's something I think the world has become very pessimistic to the idea of. Hope and Humanity. Movies, news, television, everything now seems to show that when humans are struck with adversity they crumble and run. Yet I've seen it in my life, 9/11, Katrina, the tsunami, and here with Haiti. When struck by adversity, that some people rise up and praise God regardless of the circumstances. I mean sure it's easier to remember the horrible stuff that some people do, but the good does happen, all by God's grace. Miracles are brought forth, lives change, hope is renewed and a difference can be made. You see time and time again throughout, that through chaos comes hope, rebirth and love. All thanks to Him. It's always has seemed to me that chaos is His workbench, love is His fuel, and He is both the craftsmen and the tools. Great post Patrina. =)

  4. Patrina:

Your post about this girl and what they said about her God - reminds me of my favorite OT Scripture passage in Exodus 33 where Moses begs God to go with him and the people and he goes on to say to the LORD, "How will they ditinguish us from any other people unless Your Presence goes with us?"

Yes, God is still doing miracles in and among the people of Haiti!

    ----------------------------------
    On another note:
I left a comment on another blog that was meant for you. Somehow I thought I was on your blog when I was writing it and I realized later that it was the wrong one. You both have similar titles.

    Anyway----------
I had to share an awesome thing with you. Back on Jan. 16th - God wrote a big "X" in the sky - just like the first one that spoke to me exactly two years ago on that very day. This year - the night before that date - I actually set out a fleece before the Lord and asked Him to confirm something He had been showing me for a very long time. I wanted to be sure that I was still on track with Him and His will or whether He was taking me in a new direction concerning a particular promise that He had made. So I asked Him to write another "X" like the one two years ago. I said just put it anywhere in the sky if the answer is "yes" and if it is "no" then don't show me anything there.

Well - I looked once in the morning and there was nothing. I was not even supposed to go out that day but I ended up making a meal for someone about 30 minutes away so I drove it to her house later in the afternoon. As I was driving I remembered what I had asked and began looking up in the sky. The sun was shining with a filtered haze over it and I did not see any "X" in the sky in all the directions I could see. So I was talking to the Lord, assuming that His answer was "no", and then I turned a corner in a new direction and as I came up over an expressway overpass there to my right was the sun and a huge "X" in the sky - IN EXACTLY the same place - at exactly the same time - as He had placed it two years ago.
I was so overtaken with surprise that He took my breath away as I gasped out my awe of Him!!! ONLY GOD could do this - in His prefect timing and even to still surprise me like that when I was looking for it! How does He do that???

I cried in JOY all the way there and all the way back that "X" remained in the sky right in front of me as I drove the 30 minutes home. It slowly faded out as I turned back in my driveway. I heard the Lord say, "So, does THAT safisfy your doubts?"

"Yes, LORD... it was MORE than I could ask or imagine!!"

    Praise Him!

PS: Sorry this was long - but His "X" - cross - on your blog will always remind me of the two He has given me!

  5. Yes, Patrina, my photos, my collage art work, and it means even more when I saw your blog today. If it can mean more. He has the whole world in His hands. If we just listen to he bad news, we miss the miracles. We have to learn to look at the world with more than a single lens.

  6. @ Truthsharer,
Please don't ever apologize for a long response on my blog. I love the two-way conversation! That's the reason I started blogging.I'm nortorious for long responses both here and in my responses on other's blogs.

Life is so busy these days, that we don't take the time to respond often enough. Humanity is so socially networked that they are so acustomed to one-liners. I'm afraid that it is creating a generation of abreviated relationships.

Thanks so much for that added scripture for the post - It is another awesome WORD for today.

That said - I want to say how your sharing here blessed my soul. WOW! 2 X's in the exact same spot 2 years apart. ONLy GOD could pick up a pencil and make His mark like that - especially like that - for you! Because you choose JOY, He writes JOY all over your life - just so you can see it - feel it and share it!

I pray that my blog header may continue to remind you of God's faithfulness to you and how powerful His pencil can be.

Much blessings for sharing on the Bridge and being that pencil in the hand of God to brighten my life and encourage me. Thank you for gracing my blog with your connection

  14. Patrina:

I always like coming back here for MORE!! Thank you for your kind words. See - there it was again - my new post had the same Exodus 33 as when I posted here on your blog prior! I tell you His Presence is EVERYTHING!!!

    You wrote:
"Humanity is so socially networked that they are so acustomed to one-liners. I'm afraid that it is creating a generation of abreviated relationships."

Oh that is sooo profound that i will write it in my personal journal with your name attached as a reminder to TAKE time for people. I will need to just chew on your thought about abreviated relationships for awhile. God's heart is pouring out of you on that one, Sweet Girl!

When God made the "X" two years apart on that very day - He was speaking volumes to me and others about Himself.... His CROSS... and that He leaves us "His MARK" when we are looking [and even when we're not].

I remember the first time I came to your blog and saw that photo. I think I almost wet my pants!! LOL! And I know that I had to pick my jaw up off the floor!

Keep writing.... keep sharing and keep praising the God [our Jesus] that we love in response. May we serve Him together through eternity!

    Hugs, Stephanie
