Day 9 ~ Nine Day Prayer Focus ~ Experience A Shift

This visual of the clouds
reminds me of the scripture
where a door was opened in heaven...

The Throne in Heaven

After these things I looked,
and behold, a door
standing open in heaven,
and the first voice which I had heard,
like the sound of a trumpet
speaking with me, said,
"Come up here, and I will show you
what must take place after these things."
Immediately I was in the Spirit;
and behold, a throne
was standing in heaven,
and One sitting on the throne.…
Rev 4:1-2

Experience a SHIFT in the Rift!

Read Genesis 13-14.

For God's covenant plan
to make the next shift,
there came a rift
between Abraham and Lot.
This was really over provision
and worldly choice.

A "shift" is a change of place,
position or direction.

A shift also includes
an exchange or replacement
of one thing for another.

A shift is a change of gear
so you can accelerate.

A shift can also be
an underhanded
or deceitful scheme.

Therefore, in our shift,
we must recognize
that the enemy
is plotting to stop it.

A shift also entails
a scheduled time.

Shaking occurs during a shift.
Think of a fault line.

A rift is the place of dividing.

God has a time
where division is necessary
for His covenant to come forth
in a new way.

Jesus said it this way:
"I didn't come to bring peace, but a sword!"

Let's just be sure that we,
in God's Kingdom,
don't use the sword on each other.

  1. The scriptures that begin with: "And it came to pass ...", always captivate me. In the span of days, weeks, months or years God brings about some fore-ordained shift that almost always rocks our world. Funny how many times I read those passages as though such things took place overnight.

  2. yeah...like those 'suddenlies' that bring about a turn around anointing. They are all a part of His Covenant Plan! ...but seems as if there was just a sudden shift...and things were different! He never loses sight of even the simplest things that seem to command our attention.

And it shall come to pass....

    The Coming of the Kingdom
    Luke 17:25-27

…25 "But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26 "And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.…

  3. Yes, it is Jesus who carries the sword, not us.

    1. Important to remember! Love thy neighbor as thyself...love even your enemies...even pray for them...hard to strike a sword against them when we carry the light of Jesus to chase the darkness away.

thanks for picking up the pencil, Brenda.

  4. Is Rev 4: 1 the shift of view from earth to heaven actually?

  5. awwwww, David...yes it is! And never a disappointing shift!

I shift my earthly view towards heaven...frequently.

It is that longing for heaven that draws my spiritual eyes heavenward. It is in His created 'need' for His spiritual sunshine...that draws me there...basking in His promise...to return for us...to bring us to Himself...to that heavenly home He has prepared for us. It is indeed a need for 'belonging'... that can not be quieted on this side of heaven!

    Is it not???

Thank you so much, David for picking up the pencil to bring our focus to the ultimate of shifts...Heavenward!

  6. A rift...for a reason...to separate the wheat from the chaff...to reveal certain truths to us that we cannot see or refused to see...to help us grow.
The shift can happen within the church, family, and relationships....all for our good..and for HIS name be glorified.

We must not be afraid of the shifting. True....they are necessary and a part of His plan...to bring us higher. Deep calls unto Deep. There are unseen mysteries that He longs to show us...but we must be willing to move past our comfort zone....and learn to approach Him with an incline ear.

In deed...that His name be glorified in all that we do.
