GOD STILL SPEAKS THROUGH DREAMS

Lord God, 

Lover of my soul, 

I surrender my pencil, 

please frame your message 

through my words.

Upon waking from the dream, the battle details weren’t forthcoming. The Holy Spirit wanted me to know that I was engaged in battle, but that wasn’t His focus. My immediate focus was on the battle. Who or what was I battling...and why? However, the message that the Lord wanted me to see, as I chewed on my pencil...was in the remembered details! Once He re-centered me... tabernacled my spiritual eyes through my pencil, the battle fell away; the details that remained... were His intended message. 

I was able to SEE
through KINGDOM EYES

God still speaks in dreams. 

 

“For God speaks again and again, in dreams, in visions of the night when deep sleep falls on men as they lie on their beds. He opens their ears in times like that and gives them wisdom and instruction, causing them to change their minds, and keeping them from pride, and warning them of the penalties of sin, and keeping them from falling into some trap." Job 33:14-18 TLB



It's been scientifically proven that we all dream. Most aren't aware; some think they are inconsequential; others can't remember them...etc. I am an avid dreamer. I've journaled dreams faithfully for the past 20 years. I still have vivid memories of a 3 year reoccurring nightmare, as a young 7 year old. Nightmares no longer haunt me. In fact, I rarely have them any more. When I do, I know how to sift them through the window of the Holy Spirit. I've come to trust His chosen form of communication with me, through dreams and visions. 



In this ‘comeback’, after 4 years of not posting, I’m desiring to gain an audience of christian dreamers. I’ve been an avid dreamer since childhood, but only given them the attention they deserve, for about the last 15 years. I journal them in paper notebooks. That’s what God told me to do in  2007. He clearly said to me...

”I give you dreams

in the night 

and revelation 

as you write.” 

His revelation does not come until I put my pencil to paper. That’s His instruction to me. When I obey, and surrender my pencil, He speaks in ways I can understand and He tabernacles within me. Sometimes, full revelation doesn’t come for years. But, He’s always revisiting them with me...when He has something more for me to see. My dreams never retire. They become a teaching point, a remembered lesson, a stone to uncover, a meeting place, a calling, a destination, a hope for the future. I love all aspects of dreaming.  I love hearing other’s dreams. How they come to revelation, what the dream brought about within their life...etc. 


In the next post, I’m going to share a recent dream. Most of my readers will be able to understand the symbolism used in the dream...but because of a legalistic view of whom God is, some may get hung up on God’s choice of symbolism. Remember, this is my dream. The dream language with which the Holy Spirit of God will use with you, will speak in a way that you will understand... guaranteed.



I admit, I got hung up on His choice of details. The details, at first sight, made no sense. I was dreaming of being in a physical battle, when suddenly everything changed. The change identified the battle as a spiritual battle, not necessarily physical. A spiritual battle for me means coming up against - combating unseen forces that are set up against me for various reasons; one of which would be my created purpose through Him....the God whom I believe created mankind, the earth He placed us on and the universe that surrounds it. 



Dreams are multi-faceted. Some say dreams only have one sure fire meaning. Not so with me. Some say that all the details aren't important for revelation. For me, the details lead to the dream’s intended message. It’s kind of like being in detective mode. If we don’t see all the given details as a viable part of the whole, we very well may come to the wrong conclusion. 


A ministry friend recently shared the importance of every word...every detail in the Holy Bible. Nothing is wasted...no fillers to take up space or make the story interesting. That’s why an extended study of the meaning of certain words in the original languages...is so valuable to to bring about understanding.  


From my perspective, most of my dreams are that way.  Rarely are my dreams simple. However, the dream I’ll be sharing with you next time...was a simple dream. 


The significant personal meaning - pertaining to this blog...will hopefully become evident as I describe the dream's revelation, as I put my pencil to paper. You will also understand the dream’s dual meaning, both personally as well as pertaining to my blog. It also holds significant meaning for the CHURCH - the body of Christ world wide.... in this season.




Before, putting my pencil to paper, I simply did not see the significance, as pertaining to my blog... or the CHURCH. But He called me His Warrior Bride in a dream 2 years before the creation of this blog. So this dream was just another confirmation of...

Him calling me back 

to my pencil... 

for this season... 

and TIME.

Proverbs 25:2 says ... “it is the glory of God to conceal a matter and the glory of kings to search it out.” There is much value in the search for truth. Favor comes to those who diligently seek it. The truth hidden within our dreams can be powerfully personal, instructive, and confirming. It’s an ancient form of God’s communication with man.


Hopefully, through the vulnerable sharing of some of my dreams in this new season, fellow dreamers will be encouraged to seek further revelation and understanding for your dreams. I encourage all dreamers to pick up your pencil...ask the Holy Spirit to tabernacle within you, to open your eyes to His Holy Spirit intelligence, as you seek revelation...for your good and His Glory. It’s an intimate way of allowing the Holy Spirit to speak His personal desire for you. He joins with your surrendered pencil and you begin to see what He sees...through Kingdom eyes.
