Just one God.
Honor yer Ma and Pa.
No telling tales or gossipin'.
Git yourself to Sunday meeting.
Put nothin' before God.
No foolin' around with another fellow's gal.
No killin'.
Watch yer mouth.
Don't take what ain't yers.
Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff

Patrina, this was so fun! You know that I love all things western (hence, the cowboy hat on my little profile head!!)
ReplyDeleteSometimes, simple is profound!
There's a lot of truth in a wrangler's words - because they're based on the Word of the One who corralled my soul!!
GOD BLESS!
(I wrote a post on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 on my blog - (Sharon Sharing God) - about "The Code of the West" - and then compared it to Scripture. I also appreciated the Biblical values behind "cowboy slang!")
Thank you for your kindness
ReplyDeletegot a big warm hug out of it, and a peaceful smile
Shalom
:)

Wait a minute...is it the 10 commandment that was so simplified like that?...me likey!
ReplyDeleteYou've being in my mind for quite a while now...how is your health & that of dad?
God is ever faithful....stay blessed.
Hi Patrina, so glad to meet you. I like the simplicity of how the cowboys summed up the 10 commandments. Look forward to reading more from you. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT!!! So glad you shared.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I love it when you do. I'm taking a little writing break the rest of this week and simply visiting others and encouraging or just saying hello. I normally do that anyhow but just want to take a break from posting this week. Don't deactivate your comments. That wouldn't let me encourage you and I'd sure miss it. :)
Have a gorgeous day sis. It's always good to see you. As God may lead, keep me in your prayers today. I am one very tired momma. Blessings.
Patrina, I just wanted to stop by and tell you how much your encouragment has meant to me. I have enjoyed your blog before - but this is the first time I read that you too care for your Father. Thanks you again!
ReplyDeleteDear Patrina,
ReplyDeleteI have been here to read this post a few days ago... but wanted to come back at the right time to leave you my response.
The simplicity of these words strikes me. These days the world is crying out for simple, down to earth, straight to the point honesty.
I also loved the photos of the cactus and the cowboys - all in silhouette. The contrast of the black and the orange - so simple and uncomplicated. Yet so strikingly beautiful.
No additional words were needed.
Thank you for your artistic eye, Patrina... and for always taking time to come up with a beautiful post...complete with relevant pictures and quotes.
Thinking of you today...
Love
Lidj
I just shared this with my Cowgirl Auntie and she loved it! Thank you for sharing this =O) Hope your week is full of blessings!
ReplyDeletePatrina:
ReplyDeleteA big AMEN from this Texas cowgirl!

This ought to be printed out as a cowboy poster. I bet it would sell.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Such simple words with impact. Thank you!
I know how much you love wearing your cowboy [girl] boots!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Love you --- Stephanie
This reminds me of a book that I have here in the book case.. The Ten Offenses.. by Pat Robinson.. I need to read it again.... It is all about the 10 commandments.... but I think I like this version just as well...
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Sunday..
Simply beautiful! Love the colors also of your blog.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debra
Hi Patrina -
ReplyDeleteI found you on TRUTH SHARER'S blog.
Your blog is quite appealing. It exudes warmth. The photography there is splendor!
When I saw "Demon Buster" and "Warrior Bride" on your blog, my spirit was glad!
You and I have a love for photography in common and Blind Side was one of my favorites
movies, as well.
The Cowboy's Ten Commandments...humor and truth...I like
ReplyDeleteI like the way you call yourself His Warrior Bride...
I just want you to know that your words reach a depth in my heart where few people have touched. Thank you so much for your uplifting, prayers and encouragement. You are a great woman...
