This video of a pastor in Uganda brought me to tears... Tears
of conviction and grief. I encourage you to listen, but allow time...it is a full 1 1/2 hours. Oh my, he is right on. We are so unworthy of God's love, but he loves us still; loved us even in our 'practicing' sin.
Some people sin
out of ignorance to the scripture
Others lack
a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ
As Christians, we are told in scripture that we must regularly enter into the process of what is called the 'renewing' of our mind... allowing the Lord Jesus to change our thot patterns and behavior from a 'self' gratification lifestyle...to the 'selfless' life, of walking with the Savior. The path made possible to those who receive Him as Lord. A path carved out for us on the cross..through His sacrificial blood. A path of GRACE chosen for those who love Him. A pure and unadulterated path ... set apart from the ways of an unbelieving world.
This world is cursed, as a result of the original sin. We are all therefore born into sin - thus the need to be 'reborn' by the pure spirit of God. Therefore, these 'beautiful ones' still walk...live under the 'curse' of man, because of their 'lack' of understanding God, and His intentions towards them.
She your sister...she's been robbed and lied to.
She holds a candle without a flame.
It is for these... that He died.
The LORD puts these beautiful ones...in 'our' paths every day ...(those of us who have received His restorative salvation)... He plants them in our hearts, because we see that their eyes are still veiled to the light of Christ. Only the Holy Spirit of God can woo a soul unto Himself, but He calls us to be His LIGHT in this dark world.
Sometimes,
all that is expected of us
is to walk into a place...
a room...a region...
a dark alley...
and let the LIGHT of Christ
that reigns in authority
over our own life....
LIGHT up the darkness
with our one little candle.
I came to know Him Early,
I came to know Him young.
Sometimes...
He requires more from us.
He sends us into the world to minister to these walking without sight. He loves all mankind and wishes that none would perish. Our world begins first of all in our homes...but extends and engages on a larger scale -
The moment we walk outside our front door!
We, as Christians
are called
to be LIGHT
to the nations,
peoples of the world...
that walk without
the LIGHT of Christ.
This pastor's testimony is full of LIGHT.
I respect his heart for the nations and the peoples of the world. God has unveiled his eyes to reveal his own hidden heart. In ignorance, it was even hidden from himself. This personal encounter with the LORD brought him to his knees.
He will never be the same!
Praise be to the LORD Almighty....
for His GRACE and MERCY..
Heaven and Earth have kissed
Harmony has been restored in this one man's heart...his testimony is proof of that. Hard message to speak, but his transformed heart compels him to hold his candle brightly for all to see.
We Christians, as well as unbelievers everywhere, viewing this video, should feel compelled - to enter into a heart to heart closed closet meeting between themselves and GOD - with a unanimous heart cry...
'Search me oh God...
and see if there be
any wicked way in me...
cleanse me...
and create in me
a clean heart, I pray'
This has been my cry throughout these past days in this 'Post Election' state of affairs. It was set ablaze by the message of this pastor's testimony.
Father, forgive us...
heal us...
restore us...
back to a right relationship
with you.
You alone,
are worthy of our praise...
cause us...
compel us
to carry your LIGHT in us
to LIGHT another's candle...
without a flame.
Go Light Your World
Oh Lord God...
may we experience
a like encounter with you...
a transforming encounter
that changes us so completely...
that we walk unchained...
freely carrying our lighted candle...
into the dark places of our world....
May we walk without FEAR...
without the fear of hatred
lashed against us
or being ostracized
because of our chosen obedience...
to carry YOUR LIGHT.
May we walk with LOVE ...
and view everyone
as God's beautiful creation...
Lord, I am so blessed
to be called Your Beloved...
Beautiful one...
Warrior Bride in boots.
I can't explain the emotion that rises up in me... every time I hear this song. The first time I heard it, I stood to my feet, as I felt His LIGHT reignited in me. The Holy Spirit fanned the flame with His blazing Spirit. This song, as Kathy Troccoli sings it - connects His divine will to mine, with such an empowering force...
I am no longer just ...
one little candle.
I am one flame
connected to a blazing FIRE....
that pushes the darkness away!
There is a throne in heaven...
and someone is sitting on it!
Still...Always... and for eternity.
His Name is above all other names;
His Name is Jesus Christ
Only begotten Son
of the Lord God Almighty
He is the KING of all kings....
He reigns FOREVER! ~ Psalm 2
GO LIGHT YOUR WORLD!
Psalm 2
The Message (MSG)
2 1-6 "Why the big noise, nations?
Why the mean plots, peoples?
Earth-leaders push for position,
Demagogues and delegates meet for summit talks,
The God-deniers, the Messiah-defiers:
“Let’s get free of God!
Cast loose from Messiah!”
Heaven-throned God breaks out laughing.
At first he’s amused at their presumption;
Then he gets good and angry.
Furiously, he shuts them up:
“Don’t you know there’s a King in Zion? A coronation banquet
Is spread for him on the holy summit.”

Then he gets good and angry.
Furiously, he shuts them up:
“Don’t you know there’s a King in Zion? A coronation banquet
Is spread for him on the holy summit.”
7-9 Let me tell you what God said next.
He said, “You’re my son,
And today is your birthday.
What do you want? Name it:
Nations as a present? continents as a prize?
You can command them all to dance for you,
Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.”

10-12 So, rebel-kings, use your heads;
Upstart-judges, learn your lesson:
Worship God in adoring embrace,
Celebrate in trembling awe. Kiss Messiah!
Your very lives are in danger, you know;
His anger is about to explode,

Your very lives are in danger, you know;
His anger is about to explode,
But if you make a run for God—
you won’t regret it!"
Prayerfully submitted

I love it when you bring your pencil to bear on such vital subjects. I wonder what would happen were we - the body of believers as a whole - get on our knees and seek His face/will. I fear all too many - myself included - error in crafting self-will, and then asking Him to bless it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Kathleen, thank you for picking up the pencil...we clearly haven't arrived yet. But thankfully, the Lord is a Lord of 'second chances'. Still I think we take advantage of His 'kind' heart. I feel a sense of heaviness in this post election state of affairs... Still, I choose to honor Him, the Lord Jesus with my praise. Is is still the KING of all Kings.

"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah 17:7
Thank you so much for the mention Patrina...and YES! listening to the pastor makes me sober and reflect on my walk with Christ..alas! I realized i was doing it through my human understanding. One thing i like so much is that regardless of his flaws, GOD still performed miracles because HE loves HIS children! It astonished me, because i had always believed one must be without blemish to perform miracles!
ReplyDeleteThank you again for your indepth analysis of the sermon...i enjoy listening to it over and over again to have a clearer understanding.
Love you, warrior bride in boot!..ahahha
Awww dear Kareem...He looks upon the heart! The blemishes don't stay His hand. His heart is full of compassion for all His children. None can compare to our Lord Jesus!
Deletelove you too, my far away friend :)

James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
Thank you Kathleen for being a light for the world by reflecting the Light of Christ into the darkness of misunderstanding, no understanding and reject of the God of Heaven & Earth. Not only standing firm as a child of God, but also as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God to the world. Your posts reach everyone that the Holy Spirit intends them to and touch the heart, mind and soul of the reader with His Truth. You are witnessing to a generation that is losing sight of Jesus Christ by your Oasis of Faith, Hope and Love in the Lord and your life. Blessings sister.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brain, for your kind words... WOW! I especially loved this reminder...
Delete"Your posts reach everyone that the Holy Spirit intends them to and touch the heart, mind and soul of the reader with His Truth."
That is my continuing prayer.
Blessings to you, too and thanks for the use of your post - http://briantodd.blogspot.com/2012/11/not-willing-that-any-should-perish.html - in my post here. It was so timely.

James 5:20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
I'm fighting to stay alert and alive to the world around me. My heart is greatly grieved from the events of this last week. I'm so glad for God's mandate to me to be his kingdom carrier. I don't get a pass on this one, so no matter the stress in my spirit, I'll submit myself to the Father and allow him this hard, good work in my heart.
ReplyDeletepeace~elaine
His mandate remains....and we are His children...When we ask for bread..he will not give us a stone...or a snake instead. We must remember that He is God and He ALWAYS has our best interest in mind. So...just keep doing what you are called to do...write His message as clearly as you can. His heart in us is big enough for what ever He has planned for the future. It is a good work...His plans are always good.
DeleteBlessings to you tonight

"Those who trust in the LORD are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever." Psalm 125:1
Yes Patrina,
ReplyDeleteit is true that as a man thinks, so he is. God sees us in the spiritual and is telling us to renew our minds in Christ Jesus. If we do not take every thought into captivity and bring it to the obedience of Christ the devil will seize an opportunity within our reasoning as he did with Eve in saying 'Did God say?'. It is wrong when we are told we do not have to do works, the 'works' required of us are the obedience to the word of God as He speaks to us individually. We are not under the law, we are under grace, yes, but in order to have 'no condemnation' in Christ Jesus, we have to be those who 'walk according to the Spirit'. God is long suffering with us and understands that we are flesh, and as we grow in Jesus He will reveal to us the things in His word that will bring us to maturity in Him.
Well said, Brenda. Thanks for making that clear. It is so important to do just that...'taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ"...and walk according to the spirit.
DeleteThanking the Lord for His Grace and His Mercy. He is so kind and loving....forgiving and trustworthy.
Blessings

"Casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" 2 Cor 10:5
"... that ye may be harmless and simple, irreproachable children of God in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation; among whom ye appear as lights in the world ...", which is a big test to me.
ReplyDelete"...among whom ye appear as lights in the world" A big test for all of His children, David - for we are still sporting a tent of flesh.
DeleteNone the less, "the path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." Proverbs 4:18.... and "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden." Matt 5:14
Even a low flickering light dispels the darkness. Just carry your flame....I know you don't hide it under a bushel...No...you hold it ever so gently in front of you. It is seen...You are seen as a light in this dark world. Thank you, for your light.

now I feel like singing :) remember that old children's song?
This little light of mine I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine I'm gonna let it shine
This little light of mine I'm gonna let it shine
Let it shine/Let it shine/Let it shine
Don't let the Satan blow it out/I'm going to let it shine
Don't let the Satan blow it out/I'm going to let it shine
Don't let the Satan blow it out/I'm going to let it shine
Let it Shine/All the time/Let it shine/Oh yeah!
Dearest One....this video you have mentioned from the Pastor in Uganda is POWERFUL....I could not sleep last nite....the Lord led me to this after sitting and thinking on why I could not sleep....the "busyness" of church....the lack of fruit I see in and around the new place....the hunger I have for more of HIM, why we are floundering in the progress of our move which is at a stand still, the upcoming eye surgery of Dick's, the dental problems he is having....the lack of ability to proceed in our own strength.....etc, etc,.....this lack of being able to sleep is HIS doing(allowing) to get my mind on HIM, almost in desperation ....the need I have for HIM to be more at the forefront of all I do.....this VIDEO is the answer .....the longing I have which needs HIS attention to be my most important consideration in every small step of my life.....thank you for this, it is long but this video is pure revelation of what we need to hear and realize to walk forward in HIS love.....hugs to you....BLESSED BE HIS NAME..JESUS....
