"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou should go. I will guide thee with Mine eye."
~ Your Heavenly Father
taken from Psalm 32:8Watercolor by Naum Katsenelson ~ "Jerusalem discussion"
painted on site...from the streets of Jerusalem.
I love sharing
how God speaks...
How He instructs me,
if... I'm listening :)
how He guides
my steps....
one day at a time
one foot in front
of the other.
JUST KEEP WALKING!
Last night,
I made a new friend.
His name is Drew.
I live alone in a large
apt community.
The parking lot is solid
snow pack and ice.
I was alerted to the
sound of spinning tires.
I was alerted because
I've been there - done that!
I got stuck every time
it snowed last year.
I've never gotten stuck
in a parking space...ever.
But this is an incline
and...well...I inherited
my daddy's Lincoln.
I now carry a folding shovel
and cat litter in my trunk.
Enough said!
I listened as Drew spun
and spun...and spun.
He spun for 5 min. or more.
I open the door to see.
Standing from the 3r floor
in 16 degree weather,
I prayed that the Lord
would help him in his struggle -
or send someone to help.
When no one came
several min later,
the Lord sent me ...
an OLD woman.
"Who ME"?
"YES YOU."
Let's just say...
I'm way over 50!
I remembered the bucket
of ice salt under the stairs -
filled two big yogurt containers
and went down to help.
With salt under his tires
and a push from
this OLD woman...
Drew was back in business.
He was grateful.
Said if I ever needed anything...
He gave me his apt #
and shared that they have
two small children.
I introduced myself
shook his hand..
and told him to drive safe.
Nice young man.
Glad the Lord has my ears
tuned in His direction.
But I couldn't help wondering
who would have helped me?
With men all around me
in this huge complex,
I kept waiting for one man
to give Drew a push.
No one came....
But God...
The HOLY SPIRIT
said GO!
and in my obedience...
I received His assurance.
He has given me
His peaceful assurance...
through this young man.
The Lord allowed me
to 'pay it forward'...
so Drew and I could meet.
The Lord has a plan.
The Lord's already prepared
to send me help...
He always does.
I am not alone.
Later.... praying for
Drew and his young family,
the Lord reminded me
of the bigger victory...
I get to pray for Drew
and his family!!
In fact....
I heard the HOLY SPIRIT say
"Bake them Cookies" :-)
When I shared this
with my son...
his wisdom amazed me.
Knowing that his mama
is a prayer warrior...
He said...
"Sometimes we are
the instruments
of his glory not just
the conduit for prayer"
I smiled....
last night,
I got to be both!
Your words, your heart are a salve to my soul. You are a treasure, simply and wonderfully a treasure. I needed something wonderful to read before I go to bed, something in human form that God had done....thanks for the words and your heart. I love you! sherry
ReplyDeleteSherry,
DeleteAs my son shared...just an instrument of His Glory! Thank you for your kind blessing....O yea! I love YOU too!
Dear Patrina... you may be beyond 50, but your heart is young. Never call yourself old again. Father is renewing your strength like the eagle! I was so touched by this post. This I read after I came from Rosel... and I am just so inspired to ask God to let me be a blessing as I am about to embark on my return trip to my homeland after four months of being here in your country. You are among those God sent my way, a blog neighbor whose words are always worth reading and digesting. And cookies... wow... I love cookies. Much love sent your way this cold January morning.

DeleteWhen you put it that way......
Father God is renewing my strength like an eagle!!! That's most definitely a welcome thot!
Blessings to you for a safe travel back to your homeland. My prayers are with you as you have a contemplative communion with the Father...as to your role in the healing of your beloved land.
hugs, my friend and neighbor!!
What a lovely story, and I believe absolutely that there was a reason that the Lord had no one else come to this man's rescue - because it was you that the Lord wanted this young man to meet. It will be for a reason Patrina.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your comment box, it seemed to be missing before.
God bless you.
Brenda...
DeleteAgreed! God has a plan. When I shared this story to my 8 year old granddaughter ...she got all excited about the 2 kids part! Already planing how she can play with them when she's at grammy's house. ha...such a visionary butterfly...much like her grammy...in the visionary way. Always dreaming...always seeing ahead....but capable of lingering...to smell the Joy of His garden.
I had decided to not allow comments when I first started this series...I changed my mind ...then changed it back....then I started receiving comments! it was surprising. I didn't know why. I thot I had blocked them. I missed blocking 1 day. by that time...I decided God had a reason! So here we are. I'm not going to respond to all the comments though. I'd rather keep writing and sharing God's testimony with the amount of time I can allow for blogging. I'll still visit when I can and comment when the Lord leads. Hopefully this will keep me more actively sharing...as a instrument of His Glory!
Blessings to you for your encouragement...both here and at your lighthouse.
hugs to you my far away friend
Not so far away in the Lord Patrina. Don't worry about not answering or commenting, that is not the important part. It is the same with me regarding time.
DeleteGod bless.
